Details Scarpa Phantom 8000 Thermic HD Mountaineering Boot A technical high-altitude mountaineering boot, Scarpa's Phantom 8000s are the benchmark for expeditions to the peaks of the eight-thousanders, Arctic traverses and for use in intense cold. Together with extreme lightness, contained volumes, a precise and comfortable fit and maximum freedom of movement, these Phantom 8000 Thermic HD Mountaineering Boots feature an integrated powerbank system to warm your feet in the harshest conditions. They were developed and tested in collaboration with Nirmal Purja, SCARPA ambassador and legendary mountaineer, during his first winter ascent of K2. The Carbon Tech 3 SL insole is made of three layers: the first one in pierced EVA for maximum comfort, the second in Aerogel® for maximum heat insulation and the third layer uses carbon fibre for maximum stability and lightness. The boots are lined with removable booties also composed of several layers, to provide maximum thermal insulation in small volumes. To facilitate the fit there's a double pull-tab, while the closure is made of Velcro. On the outside, the elastic material ensures wrapping and the Reflex tape maximum visibility. The insulating and durable bottom lets you walk around your tent or base camp comfortably. The wide gaiter, with adjustable closure, is composed of S-TECH Schoeller, a material based on PFC-free and Bluesign certified renewable raw materials. It's waterproof thanks to YKK® zipper and heat-sealed reflective tape for protection. Scarpa's Thermic System (weighing 160g) is integrated in the gaiter and insole and contains: a power switch to three modes (16 hours - 8 hours - 4 hours); two Powerbanks with connector and charging cable to be placed in the pocket provided, and a pair of additional heated insoles, covered in microfibre to increase comfort and durability. The outer closure is via a waterproof zip. Internally a fast lock system in two parts uses pull-tabs to progressively wrap the foot and allow a quick sliding of the string. The slider then closes and divides the tensioning zones into two parts, leaving the ankle wrapped but the foot free to move. The Velcro Fast Strap makes it easy to close and open the shell with adjustment and support.
